Technical overview
Epithalon (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) was developed in St. Petersburg by Vladimir Khavinson's group, modelled on epithalamin, a natural extract of the pineal gland. At four residues it is one of the smallest peptides studied for gene-regulating activity.
Research applications
Research focuses on telomerase activation and telomere length in cell cultures, melatonin and circadian regulation, and aging markers in animal models.
