Technical overview
Melanotan 1 is a 13-amino-acid linear peptide with the same sequence as alpha-MSH except for two substitutions: norleucine at position 4 and D-phenylalanine at position 7. Those changes make it far more resistant to breakdown and more potent at the melanocortin-1 receptor (MC1R).
