Common questions
What does “U-100 units” mean here?
It is a volume scale: 100 markings correspond to 1 mL, so one marking corresponds to 0.01 mL. It does not describe peptide potency or biological activity. The amount of peptide at a marking depends on your calculated concentration. This calculator does not support U-40 or U-500 scales.
Does changing syringe size change the result?
No. The concentration, sample volume, and U-100 equivalent stay the same. Selecting a capacity changes the diagram and checks whether the full sample volume fits in that syringe. Graduation intervals vary by device.
What assumptions does the calculator make?
It assumes complete dissolution and a uniform solution, uses the peptide mass you enter without purity or salt corrections, and treats the added diluent volume as the final solution volume. It does not account for displacement, dead space, or handling losses. Use measured final volume when your protocol requires it.
Can I use this for a peptide blend?
Only if your vial mass and target amount refer to the same basis. Entering the total mass of a blend calculates the combined amount, not the amount of each component. Individual component calculations require that component’s mass in the vial.
