Semax Dosage Chart and Calculator: How to Take It by Nasal Spray or Injection

Semax dosage for the 10mg vial: injected draws in units with 2mL of bac water, the Russian nasal-drop doses, the best time of day, course length and how long a mixed vial keeps.

Semax is a seven-amino-acid peptide made from a short piece of ACTH, the pituitary hormone, with the hormone activity engineered out. Russia has licensed it for decades as nasal drops for stroke, memory and attention, and the research market sells it as freeze-dried powder. Because it is measured in micrograms, a 10mg vial stretches across 10 to 50 draws depending on the dose.

Simms Research’s Semax comes in one size, 10mg, at $55. It is the original sequence, Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, not the modified N-acetyl Semax amidate, and the charts here are written for that vial with 2mL of bac water added to it.

Semax dosage calculator

Pick the water and the dose, and the calculator gives the units to draw on a U-100 insulin syringe. It opens on a 10mg vial with 2mL and a 300mcg dose: 6 units.

Semax dosage chart

Injected Semax protocols draw 200 to 600mcg once a day, and a few climb to 1mg. With 2mL of bac water in the 10mg vial, each unit mark on a U-100 insulin syringe carries 50mcg, so the whole range sits between the 4 and 20 marks:

Syringe mark (U-100)Semax doseDoses from one vialWhere it sits
4 units200mcg50Starting draw
6 units300mcg33Most common daily draw
10 units500mcg20Upper daily draw
12 units600mcg16Top of most daily protocols
20 units1mg10High end, few protocols

300mcg, 6 units, is the most common single draw, and 500 to 600mcg is the usual ceiling for daily use. Draws this small are easiest to measure on a 0.3mL insulin syringe, which marks every single unit. A different vial size or water amount changes every number here; the peptide calculator gives the units for any mix.

How to reconstitute Semax

Add 2mL of bacteriostatic water to the 10mg vial. The result is 5mg per mL: every 10 units on the syringe is 500mcg and the chart above reads straight off the barrel. Some guides use 1mL, which doubles the strength of every unit, or 5mL, which cuts it to less than half; the peptide calculator converts any of them.

Clean both stoppers, add the water slowly along the side of the vial, and roll it gently between two fingers until the cake is gone, usually within a minute. Semax should finish perfectly clear and colorless. Mark the day it was mixed and refrigerate it from then on. The longer version of these steps is in the reconstitution guide.

A 10mL vial of Simms Research’s Research Water costs $20 and mixes five Semax vials. What its 0.9% benzyl alcohol does in a vial that is opened every day is explained in the bac water guide.

Semax dose per day

300 to 600mcg a day by injection, taken once in the morning, is where most protocols sit, which is 6 to 12 units at the 2mL strength. As nasal drops, the Russian label’s lighter regimens come to 400 to 900mcg daily, split into two or three sittings.

The label sets the outer limits. At the 0.1% strength, a single dose runs 200 to 2,000mcg and a day 500 to 5,000mcg, scaled at roughly 3 to 30mcg per kilogram a dose, with no sitting larger than 2 or 3 drops a nostril. The neurology regimens at the 1% strength go far higher, 6 to 20mg a day in the acute phase of a stroke, and they are hospital doses rather than a template for daily research use.

One clinic protocol for injected Semax opens at 500mcg and moves to 800mcg after two weeks, dosing on weekdays with two days off. Twice-a-day schedules keep the second draw before mid-afternoon. Nothing in the label or the protocols in circulation adjusts the dose for sex.

Semax nasal spray dosage

200 to 300mcg a sitting, two or three sittings a day. That is the Russian label written in drops: its 0.1% solution holds 1mg per mL, every 0.05mL drop carries 50mcg, and one sitting is 2 or 3 drops in each nostril. The 1% solution, kept for stroke care, is ten times stronger at 500mcg a drop.

The 2mL mix from the chart is a 0.5% solution, five times the 0.1% label strength. Each drop of it holds 250mcg, and a spray pump, which puts out about 0.1mL a press, would deliver roughly 500mcg every time. Matching the label takes 10mL of total liquid for the whole vial, so the usual route is to dissolve the powder in the vial first and dilute a measured share into a separate sterile bottle. Semax vs Selank lays out those dilution steps for both peptides.

Premixed Semax sprays skip the mixing but fix the strength, so a dose there is counted in presses rather than units.

When to take Semax

In the morning, with any second dose before mid-afternoon. Semax is stimulating: the 0.1% label lists excitement and insomnia as its side effects, and its regimens for mental work and for children put the doses in the morning and early afternoon. Injected protocols follow the same clock and put the draw on waking.

No protocol ties Semax to meals, so there is no need to fast. A nasal dose reaches the brain within minutes (Shevchenko, Bioorganicheskaia Khimiia, 2006), and the effect is reported to last most of a day, which is why one morning dose covers a working day and an evening dose tends to cost sleep.

Semax protocol and cycle

10 to 14 days on the label, then a break before the next course. The 0.1% label runs Semax daily for 3 to 5 days and stretches the course to 14 days when needed; its children’s regimen is the one exception at 30 days. The manufacturer puts a repeat course three to six months later.

Research protocols in circulation run longer. Two to four weeks of daily draws is the common cognitive block, and the longest clinic protocol runs eight weeks on a five-on, two-off rhythm, then eight weeks off, two or three times a year. The breaks are habit more than necessity: the manufacturer reports no tolerance and no withdrawal, and short courses with gaps between them are how the clinical work was done (Gusev, Zhurnal Nevrologii i Psikhiatrii imeni S.S. Korsakova, 2018).

How long Semax lasts after reconstitution

28 days, kept cold at 36 to 46°F (2 to 8°C). The benzyl alcohol in bac water keeps a vial that is opened every morning clean for that window. Unmixed powder keeps in the fridge too, or at -20°C for long-term storage, and handles a few weeks at room temperature, so Simms Research ships it dry, without ice. Both forms are covered in the peptide refrigeration guide.

At the low end of the chart, the 28-day mark rather than an empty vial ends each one:

What to stack Semax with

Selank. The two share a lab of origin and a nasal-drop history, and they cover opposite sides of the same question: Semax for focus and memory, Selank for calm under stress. Its own chart is in the Selank dosage guide, and the case for one, the other or both is made in Semax vs Selank.

Each runs on its own schedule from its own vial, Semax in the morning and Selank spread through the day. The Limitless Bundle from Simms Research puts a 10mg vial of Semax and one of Selank together for $81. Premixed Semax and Selank nasal sprays exist, though one bottle locks both doses to a single ratio.

Semax side effects

Most courses pass with nothing more than a brief sting in the nose from the drops or a small, short-lived bump where an injection went in. The 1% label names a single side effect, mild irritation of the nasal lining with long use, and states that no overdose effects have been seen even when single doses were raised well beyond the regimen.

The 0.1% label adds excitement and insomnia, the stimulating side of the peptide, and reports from research protocols add headache, irritability and restlessness, mostly at the top of the dose range or after a late dose. Morning timing and a 200 to 300mcg start are how protocols handle them. Despite its origin in ACTH, Semax carries none of the hormone’s action on the adrenal glands.

Semax purity and batch reports

The latest Semax batch tested at 99.62% purity and held more peptide than the label in all three vials. An independent ISO-certified lab ran each vial separately on July 16, 2026:

Vial testedHPLC puritySemax measured
First vial99.57%10.91mg
Second vial99.42%11.34mg
Third vial99.88%11.28mg
Batch average99.62%11.17mg

RP-HPLC gave the purity figures and LC-MS confirmed each vial held Semax. Endotoxins were within limits, no heavy metals were detected, and the sterility culture stayed clear. The February 2026 batch before it read 99.52% on one vial, on a report from before endotoxin, metal and sterility testing joined each batch.

For the chart, 11.17mg in 2mL puts about 560mcg in 10 units rather than 500mcg; entering 11.17mg as the peptide amount in the calculator matches the units to this batch. The Semax lab results page holds both full certificates, and the guide to reading a COA walks through what every line measures.

Frequently asked questions

How much bacteriostatic water do I add to Semax?

2mL for a 10mg vial. Each unit on a U-100 syringe is then 50mcg, and 10 units is 500mcg.

How many units is a Semax dose?

6 to 12 units at the 2mL strength, which is 300 to 600mcg. Starting draws sit at 4 to 6 units.

Is Semax taken every day?

Yes. The label regimens and most research protocols give it daily for the length of a course, and some injected protocols take two days off each week.

What is Semax used for?

In research, attention, memory and learning, recovery after stroke, and BDNF, the growth factor behind new connections between neurons. Semax vs Selank covers that evidence in depth.

How fast does Semax work?

A nasal dose acts within minutes. Course effects in the clinical work built over the 10 to 14 days of a standard course.

Is Semax a stimulant?

It has a stimulating effect, which is why doses stay in the morning, but the manufacturer reports no tolerance and no withdrawal.

Is Semax the same as N-acetyl Semax amidate?

No. N-acetyl Semax amidate caps both ends of the chain to slow its breakdown, and Adamax is a further modification. Both have far less published research, so this guide’s doses apply to plain Semax, the form Simms Research sells.

Is Semax FDA approved?

No. Russia licenses it as a medicine; in the US it is sold for laboratory research only.
